I’ve known that this moment would come for a while.
On Sunday night, I put down the Double Irish Chain granny square blanket I’ve been making for my sister in the colors of the New Orleans Saints.
I’m still reading The City and the Stars and the Sands of Mars by Arthur C. Clarke
(as of last night, I’m at the 36% mark), but the blanket is now hibernating because I have more pressing deadlines – for paid designs – approaching.
Here’s a sneak peak at my current project.
It’s the always yummy Spud & Chloe Sweater in 7508 Pollen. And, yes, those are yarn bobbins. A woman has to have a little mystery, so that’s all I’ll say for now.
Visit Tami’s Amis for more WIP Wednesday posts and Small Things for more Yarn Along projects with books.

I think you’ve hit all the right “ooh” notes, Vanessa!

Thanks Calophi. It is a classic quilt pattern that I love but don’t have the patience for in quilting. My quilting is less precise than my crochet, so the idea of matching up 375 sewn squares is not very appealing to me!

I’ve been wanting to do something with Spud&Chloe for awhile… can’t wait to see what you have planned!

Welcome, cleancup! Unfortunately, you will have to wait until late 2012 to see the full reveal, since this project will be going into a book.

“Pollen” …makes me breathe in deep and sigh thinking of summer days with lazy bees inspecting flowers. Must feel nice to work on something different after so much time spent on the Saints blanket!

It’s like heaven, Minding My Own Stitches! There is a point in making a blanket where it seems pretty terrible. But yet, I keep coming back for more!

Welcome, Dawn, and thanks! I am sure you love the colors since (according to some New Orleans residents on Ravelry), this yarn is the closest match to Saints gold
